  • How did you become a wedding photographer?

I began my journey as a photojournalist in Berlin, Germany. One day, a friend asked me to document his brother’s wedding, and that was the moment I fell in love with wedding photography. Since then, I’ve been traveling the world, capturing beautiful love stories.

  • What's your style?

I like to call it a ‘creative documentary style.’ With my background in photojournalism, my approach is natural and unobtrusive, yet I’m always searching for interesting light, unique angles, and compelling backgrounds.

  • Can you share some details about your pricing?

I’m happy to create a personalized pricing proposal for you! Just fill out the form on my contact page, and I’ll get back to you soon.

  • How does VAT work in Italy?

My prices are generally exclusive of VAT. Here’s why:

In Italy, photographers are subject to two different VAT rates.

If you book an artistic photography service, I will send you all images as previews, and you can select 30 photographs to be printed and signed by me. In this case, a 10% VAT applies.

However, if you choose more than 30 photographs, the service is no longer classified as “artistic,” and a 22% VAT must be applied.

I’d be happy to explain this in more detail during a Zoom call!

  • Are you available for destination weddings?

Of course! I love to travel anywhere. I’ve photographed weddings in Canada, the USA, Spain, Germany, the UK, Switzerland, France, Monte Carlo, and, of course, all across Italy.

  • How can we book?

Easy. After we set up a meeting in person, phone call, or Zoom you’ll receive all the payment details and an electronic agreement to read and sign online.

  • How do we get our photos?

You’ll have your private online gallery which you can share with all your families and friends in the world.

  • Do you provide a print and distribution release?

Absolutely. You can print your photos wherever you want and you can distribute them around the internet too for private use. I also provide prints from my professional print lab if you want them done well.

  • Do you take family/group photos?

Of course. I love them. Often a wedding is the only time where all the family members will be in the same place at the same time, and I think it’s important to document that.

  • If we don't want our photos to be posted online?

I totally understand if you want your wedding to remain private.

  • Can uncle Bob take pictures during our wedding?

Sure. I never have any problem with photographing guests, videographers, or anyone else. Of course, sometimes they happen into my frames if you like to avoid that just let them know before.

  • What kind of equipment do you use?

    I’m a featured photographer over at shotkit.com/julian-kanz

  • Is this your real job?

Yes. I’ve been working as a professional photographer since 2008. I’ve photographed 600+ weddings.
