Villa Muggia Wedding
In 1906, after the completion of the Simplon railway tunnel, the first trains connecting Paris with Milan stopped in Stresa. With the Simplon Express, there were connections from Calais to Venice and Trieste. During this time, the first tourists came to Lake Maggiore and helped make the place what it is today. An elegant vacation spot on a beautiful lake, easy to reach from Germany and Switzerland.
Nicole and Nicolas (nice pun, by the way) came to Villa Muggia to celebrate their wonderful wedding in this amazing venue on Lake Maggiore. Villa Muggia is an elegant residence built in the second half of the nineteenth century. The vast centuries-old park and the majestic stepped fountain that crosses it, accompany us to the period residence where, immediately, you can enjoy a wonderful view of Lake Maggiore and the Borromean Islands. The interiors of the villa are enriched with precious Japanese tapestries, works by famous artists, and sumptuous Murano glass chandeliers.
I was recommended to Nicole and Nicolas by a former couple from New Jersey, whose beautiful wedding I was lucky to photograph in Tuscany. Thanks, Nancy and Ben. Here is their wedding at Castello di Meleto, Chianti, Tuscany.
